Welcome Letter

Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for The Barclays! We’d like to welcome back our past volunteers - your tremendous efforts and dedication have truly helped make this event a great success story, and we hope to have you back again this year at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, NY! To those who are interested in volunteering for the first time – please take a look around this site for more information and we hope to see you in August!

The Barclays 2015 was yet another exciting beginning for The PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. Jason Day finished with an impressive 19 under par to win the event by six strokes. The Barclays was just one of several first place finishes by Day during the 2015 season which secured him a 3
rd place finish in the overall FedExCup points ranking.

But most importantly, your tireless commitment and dedication allowed The Barclays to donate over $1.4 million to local charities in 2015. Beneficiaries included the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, and the YMCA, among others. Since its inception, The Barclays has donated over $45 million to charity, and we hope you will join us in 2016 as we strive to raise even more for the local community around Farmingdale.

The Barclays is thrilled to move to the next stop on the tournament's rotating schedule and return to Bethpage State Park’s famed Black Course since the event was last hosted there in 2012. The Black Course is well known for having hosted the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009 (the first public course to do so) and is praised for its difficulty. The Black Course will, without a doubt, provide a dramatic and challenging opening to the 2016 PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.

Please take a thorough look through this website as it contains valuable and pertinent information. To apply as a volunteer in 2016, please click on the link titled “Volunteer Registration” to complete an application. Please note, all volunteers are required to purchase a $75 volunteer package which helps offset a portion of the actual cost so that the tournament can continue to benefit local charitable organizations.

The chairman of your committee will contact you in late June/early July to confirm which shifts and days you are available to work. Thank you in advance for your time and effort, we look forward to working with you to ensure the success of The Barclays. We are confident that you will find this experience to be extremely rewarding. If you have any questions, please call the Tournament Office at (201) 444-5356.

Sincerely,

The Barclays Tournament Staff
